MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS:

DAN O’CONNOR Dan is co-founder of Impro Theatre/Los Angeles Theatresports and BATS Improv in San Francisco. He is an actor, writer, director, producer and improviser. 

Improvisation and Theatre credits include the Improbable Theatre’s production of Keith Johnstone’s Life Game (Off-Broadway); work and ACT. He has been a director at the Out of Bounds festival, The Yes And Festival in NYC, The Lighten Up Theatre Fest, the Calgary and Vancouver International Improvisation Festivals, MITICO in Milan, the Dubai Fringe, the MOMENT Festival in Vienna, TORN in Hamburg, the Global Improv Initiative at UC Irvine and Middlesex University, Charleston Comedy Festival and at the ITI Conference “Improv Ecology” in Vancouver. 

Dan has taught for playwriting/screenwriting programs UCSB and DUKE. He was an adjunct professor for USC‘s BFA program and has also taught in the MBA Program for the University of Texas, the National Alliance of Acting Teachers and the Directors Lab West. He has been a consultant and trainer for Cirque du Soleil, Dreamworks and Disney Animation.

Dan has co-authored two books with Jeff Katzman about using improvisation to lead a more happy and engaged life both published by North Atlantic Books:

Television directing credits include the critically acclaimed ABC hybrid sit-com Sons and Daughters and Campus Ladies for the Oxygen Network. He was a writer and the improv director for The Wayne Brady Show. He co-created the NBC/PAX television improv comedy show World Cup Comedy. Television acting credits include everything from Seinfeld toThe Righteous Gemstones.

He trained at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and is a graduate of the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

EDI PATTERSON Edi plays Judy Gemstone and is a writer for the HBO series The Righteous Gemstones. Some other credits include Resident Alien, Violent Night, Vice Principals, Knives Out, Nutcrackers, and Thelma the Unicorn. Edi is an alum of the Main Company of The Groundlings comedy theatre in Los Angeles, and a member of the ensemble of Impro Theatre.

JULLY LEE Jully made her Broadway debut in KPOP and is a resident actor/director with Playground-NY. In New York, she’s worked with Second Stage, Roundabout, Pan Asian Rep, Ma-Yi, EST, Alchemation and LDK Productions. Jully is an Ovation-nominated actor and was also nominated for Good Morning America's Who is Making Asian American Pacific Islander History in 2021 as a "powerhouse in the LA theatre scene." 

Jully is a company member of Impro Theatre and also served as Cold Tofu Improv's artistic director for ten years. Most recently, she was in the world premiere of EMPTY RIDE at the Old Globe in San Diego and directed in the THINK AND IMAGINE short play festival at Fierce Backbone in West Hollywood. 

TV credits include recurring roles on “Young Sheldon,” “The Kicks,” and “Gang Related,” as well as appearances on “S.W.A.T.,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Jane the Virgin,” “Veep,” “This Is Us,” “Henry Danger,” and “The Kominsky Method.” jullylee.com
