Joseph Leo Bwarie, Producing Artistic Director of Garry Marshall Theatre, takes the stage with an 11-piece band for a benefit concert to raise funds to support the students of the Altadena schools that were lost and damaged in the Eaton Fire.
Bwarie is a founding artistic director of Garry Marshall Theatre, and has performed on the GMT (and former Falcon) stage in countless productions and concerts. Bwarie’s studio albums span decades of music with his re-invention of what the modern American Song Book means to him.
He is a Broadway alum known for his portrayal of Frankie Valli in "Jersey Boys." A Los Angeles native, Bwarie’s mother was pregnant with him while teaching 1st Grade at one of the Altadena elementary schools that was lost in the fires.
The benefit concert, titled “Foolish Heart” will also launch a new youth education initiative set by Bwarie and the education Team at Garry Marshall Theatre, led by Jessica Champagne Hansen and professionals in the arts and education space.
