BROADWAY DANCE

Musical Theatre Choreography for Youth

Ages 10-12

Ages 13-17

Dance runs deep with the Marshall Family. Garry’s mother Marjorie was a dance instructor in the Bronx, NY. BROADWAY DANCE is a NEW program for ages 10-12 and 13-17. The goal is to define movement and physicality in a healthy and creative environment. BROADWAY DANCE is poised to educate young dancers or movers in the art of the professional style, technique, and presence embodied in a Broadway show. The learning outcomes are two-fold: practicing dance and learning professionalism within the dance community. This series will be taught by professional dance instructors from the LA and NY choreography and dance community. Both cohorts will practice multiple choreographed routines in the rehearsal space and on the stage. Ages 10-12 will practice basic dance vocabulary and methods and ages 13-17 will focus on more advanced dance techniques within choreography.

This program culminates with a special presentation on the GMT stage showcasing the BROADWAY DANCE participants sharing what they learned and created during their 6 weeks together.
